Thursday night, the Predators pulled off one of the biggest trades of the 2006-07 season, acquiring superstar center Peter Forsberg from the struggling Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Scottie Upshall, defenseman Ryan Parent, a first-round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft and a third-round selection in the '07 draft.
The addition of Forsberg sends a clear message to the rest of the NHL that the Preds, who entered play Thursday night with the best record in the NHL (39-16-3), are taking aim at the Stanley Cup.
